Weekend scheduling

Why does a Saturday party get Friday delivery?

Walter Rental Works delivers weekend event porta potties on Friday and picks them up Monday so the unit is set before your first guest and never needs a weekend truck. The Friday-to-Monday stretch is one event price, up to 7 days, with no extra day charges.

From the U.S. call study: 46% of the 155 calls in our U.S. call study involved weekend scheduling, and about 40% of event callers phoned less than a week before the party. The top worry was "Will it come before the guests?" Friday delivery solves that. A close second: "Do I have to be there for pickup?" — no.

Sizing

How many event porta potties does a party or festival need?

A party needs 1 standard porta potty for every 50 guests if it lasts up to 4 hours, and 1 for every 40 guests if it lasts 5–8 hours. If alcohol is served, add 1 unit for every 5. A 120-guest, 6-hour graduation party with beer needs 3 units plus 1 for alcohol, so 4 units.

Walter Rental Works sizing method: guests ÷ 50 (≤4 h) or ÷ 40 (5–8 h), rounded up; add 1 unit per 5 (minimum 1) when alcohol is served.

Local rules

What does a Milwaukee block party or park event need?

A Milwaukee block party needs a City DPW block party permit filed at least 2 weeks ahead, a majority-signed neighbor petition, and a spot for the porta potty on a driveway or inside the closed block. A Milwaukee County park picnic permit runs 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., but park restrooms close at 9 p.m.

City block parties

Apply online at least 2 weeks ahead; the alderperson, DPW and MPD review it. Residents get barricades at no cost. Put the unit on a driveway or within the closed section, never blocking the barricade lane.

Milwaukee County parks

Picnic permits need 7 days' notice; special events need about 2 weeks and a site map. Park restrooms are shared with the public and close at 9 p.m. Ask the Parks Special Events Office (414-257-4503) where vendor units may go.

Milwaukee County Parks special events

Public events: at least 5% of units in each cluster should be accessible under the 2010 ADA Standards §213.2 — see wheelchair-accessible units. Festival tip: a City special event permit needs 30 days (90 days downtown); it does not set a toilet count, so size with the table above.

Party this weekend?

Call by noon Friday and we still deliver before Saturday.

Event porta potties: questions callers ask

I have never rented a porta potty before. How does it work?

Call or send the form with the date, ZIP and guest count. We quote one total, you approve it, we drop the unit Friday, you use it, and we pick it up Monday. You do not need to be home for either visit.

Can it be delivered the day of and picked up the next day?

Yes, on weekdays. For Saturday and Sunday events we deliver Friday and pick up Monday at no extra charge, so the unit is never late.

Is it cheaper if I only need it Sunday, not Saturday through Monday?

No — the event price is the same for 1 to 7 days. The extra days are free, not charged.

Do I have to clean it before you pick it up?

No. Close the door and leave it where it is. We pump and clean it at the yard.

The Airbnb owner says a minimum of two. Is one enough for 40 guests?

For 40 guests over 4 hours, one unit is enough by our method. If the party runs longer or has a bar, two keeps the line short — and keeps the host happy.

Can I get one for men and one for women?

Yes. Rent two units and we add men and women door signs on request.

Is it cheaper to keep them all season or have them picked up after each game?

For weekly events like fall football or a market, a 28-day rental with weekly service usually costs less than separate event rentals each weekend.
