How many porta potties does a construction site need?
A construction site needs 1 porta potty for 20 or fewer workers under OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51(c). From 21 to 199 workers, a construction site needs 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers; at 200 or more workers, 1 seat and 1 urinal per 50. One standard unit has both a seat and a urinal.

How does 28-day jobsite billing work?
Jobsite porta potty rentals bill every 28 days, not by calendar month. Each 28-day cycle includes the unit and one service visit per week. The rental renews automatically until you call or text for pickup; billing stops the day you call, and we prorate the last cycle by the week.
- Day 1 Delivery. First invoice covers the first 28 days plus one-time delivery and pickup.
- Every 7 days Service visit: pump, pressure-wash, sanitize, restock paper and sanitizer, check the lock and vent.
- Day 28 Next cycle bills at the base rate only — no new delivery fee.
- Job done Call or text. Billing stops that day; the last partial cycle is charged by the week, not the full 28 days.
From the U.S. call study: Contractors in the 155 calls in our U.S. call study kept asking the same two things: "Do you have to go from the first of the month, or can I just pick a date?" and "If it goes a month and a week, is that two months of charges?" With us: start any day, and a month and a week is one 28-day cycle plus one week.
Which jobsite units do you rent?
For jobsites we rent 5 units: the standard porta potty, a crane-ready high-rise unit with lifting points for roofs and upper decks, a towable unit on a small trailer for crews that move, the 2-basin handwashing station, and a wheelchair-accessible unit for public-facing sites.

Towable unit
Mounted on a small trailer your crew can hitch and move between road or utility sites.

Standard jobsite unit
Seat, urinal, sanitizer and a padlock hasp for overnight lockup.

Toilet + wash station
Pair a station with every 2–4 units where crews handle concrete, paint or adhesives.
Crew starting Monday?
Call by Saturday noon and the unit is on site before the crew arrives.
Where should a jobsite porta potty go?
Place a jobsite porta potty on level ground within about 25 feet of where our truck can park, away from swinging equipment and at least 10 feet from the street. Keep the door facing the work area. On Milwaukee streets, a unit in the right-of-way needs a public-way permit and cannot sit on open streets or alleys from December 1 to March 1.
- Gate codes and lockboxes: text them to dispatch when you book; service visits happen whether or not your crew is there.
- Fenced sites: leave a 4-foot opening or a key; if the driver cannot reach the unit, the service visit is rescheduled.
- Cranes: high-rise units have lifting points; your rigger lifts, we never lift loaded units.
- Winter: antifreeze from mid-October to late April; keep a plowed path to the door.
Street rules: City of Milwaukee public-way placement sheet.
Construction porta potties: questions callers ask
Can you provide a long-term rental, like ten weeks?
Yes. Ten weeks is two full 28-day cycles plus two weeks. Weekly service is included the whole time, and billing stops the day you call for pickup.
Do you have to go from the first of the month, or can I pick a date?
Pick any start date. The 28-day cycle starts the day we deliver.
So it just stays there until I call you for pickup?
Yes. Jobsite rentals renew every 28 days until you call or text. We send a reminder before each new cycle so you are never surprised.
Do you have high-rise units we can crane up to a roof?
Yes. Crane-ready units have lifting points. Your rigger lifts them; we service them on the roof or bring them down for service by arrangement.
Can I get twice-a-week cleaning because it is summer and hot?
Yes. Add a second weekly visit for big crews or July–August heat. It is listed as its own line on the quote.
Will you send receipts by email every month?
Yes. Each 28-day invoice and receipt is emailed, with the jobsite address and PO number if you give us one.
Can you direct bill our company?
Yes, for approved contractor accounts with net-30 terms. Call to set up an account.
